Confirmation from Niantic: Trading is definitely coming to Pokémon Go

Pokémon Go has been out for almost three weeks and now its creators have revealed the mysterious leaders of the game’s teams and where it’s going next.

John Hanke, CEO of Niantic, Go’s creator, said the company is working on introducing trading to the game to help players catch all 151 Pokémon.

“Trading is not in Pokémon Go today, but it’s something we’re working on bringing to the product,” Hanke said during the San Diego Comic-Con, over the weekend. He also confirmed more rare Pokémon would be added to the game and gave details of customised Pokéstops, including potential name changes, adding skins and other mystery features.

However, all this does depend on the company keeping the game’s servers online. Pokémon Go has consistently suffered from outages since launch, with players’ even going so far as to create dedicated websites showing the status of the servers.
