by Jonathan Adams

Kapilendo is a German crowdfunding platform founded in 2015 and it has successfully raised seven million euros (approximately £5.95M) in Series B funding just before the New Year. The pension fund for the Berlin Chamber of Dentists (Versorgungswerk der Zahnärztekammer Berlin, or VZ Berlin) primarily supported the round, along with Comvest Holding GmbH and FinLab AG.

According to Founder and CEO Christopher Grätz, “With the fresh capital, we want to become the leading full-service provider in the field of crowdfunding in Germany.”

A couple of fully-financed projects on the Kapilendo platform have included MKS Software Management AG’s Goliath software, L’Osteria’s franchising efforts, and Dr. Hansen Dentists’ growth and expansion goals.

CEO of FinLab AG Stefan Schütze also added, “Crowdlending is one of the most exciting fintech topics and will change the financing market in Germany. Kapilendo provides the best product on the market. The cooperation with the team has convinced us completely since our introduction. With our continued commitment, we want to actively support future growth.”
