A New York group has met nearly 6,000 per cent of its crowdfunding goal for a Lego-compatible tape designed to foster brick building on “virtually any surface.”
The inventors of Nimuno Loops, a tape covered in bumps designed to be compatible with Lego bricks, sought $8,000 (£6,521.56) in funding on IndieGoGo, but as of Wednesday they had raised more than $460,000 (£374,959.25) with a month left in the campaign.
“Imagine being able to build around corners, on curved surfaces, or even onto the sides of that sailing ship you’ve just spent hours building,” the inventors wrote. “You forgot to engineer a point of attachment for that sweet dinosaur-smashing cannon? No problem. Snip a length of Nimuno Loops, stick it on the hull, mount your cannon and be on yarr way.” The creators said the tape is “compatible with Lego, Mega Bloks, Kreo and most major toy building block systems.”
“A whole new universe of possibilities when constructing with Nimuno Loops!” they wrote.
