The market bounced back when the Fed maintained its benchmark policy rate at its FOMC meeting
The crypto currency market has shown signs of recovery in 2023, after a challenging year in 2022 because of the Federal Reserve’s aggressive monetary tightening measures aimed at tackling inflation. Top crypto currencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Cardano, Dogecoin, and BNB have stayed rangebound for three months, reflecting uncertainties about future interest rate decisions by the central bank.
Bitcoin saw a rally in 2023, hitting a 52-week peak of $31,500. However, a subsequent decline followed a Fed interest rate raise led by Chair Jerome Powell, with the crypto currency now changing hands at nearly $26,900. The market bounced back when the Fed maintained its benchmark policy rate at its Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting.
In spite of this rebound, Chair Powell’s warning about potential further rate hikes of 25 bps because of sustained inflation has triggered recession fears and sparked a jump in the yield of the 10-year U.S. Treasury Note. Nonetheless, dovish comments from some Fed officials are fuelling another attempt at crypto currency recovery.
Several firms are positioned to benefit from this resurgence. NVIDIA Corporation, a top GPU manufacturer with a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy), is anticipated to see an earnings growth rate of 221.6 per cent. CME Group Inc., which offers Bitcoin and ether options and carries a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy), projects growth of 14.1 per cent. Moreover, Coinbase Global, Inc., supporting crypto-based applications with a Zacks Rank #2 and an expected growth rate of 84.5 per cent, is also set to benefit from the ongoing crypto currency market recovery.
