European stocks rose slightly in early morning trade Tuesday, led by buoyant energy shares.
The broad Stoxx Europe 600 index was up 0.17%, while the oil and gas stocks listed on the index rose 0.54%.
S&P 500 futures were largely flat, up 0.01%. Changes in futures don’t necessarily reflect market moves after the opening bell.
Asian shares were buoyed by news that the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries will hold an informal meeting in September.
