Georgia Beer Company Seeks Crowdfunding for Craft Brewery

by Jonathan Adams

South Georgia may be getting their first and only craft brewery.

Georgia Beer Company is looking to move to the downtown Valdosta area by next year.

“We want to represent South Georgia in the craft beer world, and that hasn’t been done yet”, says J. Ryce Martin, Director of Brewing Operations for Georgia Beer Company. “We want to be able to provide that service.”

The company recently created a Kickstarter account, which will help furnish the business. Their goal is to collect $23,500 by Dec. 2, 2015. As of Monday morning, 39 supporters have pledged over $3,000 so far.

While they wait on the final results, the company is currently brewing out of Martin’s garage. They say they’re working on perfecting its recipes, while also working on floor plans for the building.
