The new feature allows MetaMask users to buy a range of crypto currencies via the different payment methods, including debit or credit cards, PayPal, bank transfers, and instant ACH

Crypto currency wallet and decentralized application (DApp) provider MetaMask has announced the launch of a new feature that will permit users to buy crypto with fiat currency straight from its Portfolio decentralized application. The move is intended to simplify the method of buying crypto with fiat currency for MetaMask users.

The new “Buy Crypto” functionality allows MetaMask users to buy a range of crypto currencies via the different payment methods, including debit or credit cards, PayPal, bank transfers, and instant ACH. Users from more than 189 countries can access the service which will offer over 90 tokens across eight networks.

In order to access the functionality, MetaMask users can connect their wallets to the Portfolio decentralized application or click on the “Buy” button. From there, users can choose their region, payment method, and the token and network they want to buy on.

The functionality also considers a range of factors, like the location of the user and local regulations, in order to provide a personalised quote for every purchase. Once the user has chosen a quote, they will be redirected to the website of a third-party provider in order to finish the transaction. The funds will then be deposited straight into the MetaMask wallet of the user.

Over the years, MetaMask has partnered with a number of companies to help new users onto its platform.

Last year, Metamask partnered with PayPal to permit MetaMask users to buy and transfer Ether via the platform of PayPal. Under the service, users can buy and transfer ether from PayPal to MetaMask by logging onto their Mobile MetaMask application, which would then take them to their PayPal account to complete transactions.

Moreover, on March 21 MetaMask announced a new integration with crypto fintech provider MoonPay that permits Nigerian users to buy crypto via instant bank transfers. The new feature, available in the MetaMask mobile and Portfolio decentralized application, offers an easier and cheaper method to purchase crypto without using credit or debit cards.
