Law firm Michelmores has appointed two new partners to the real estate team based at its offices in Bristol and Exeter.
Chris Hoar joins the firm as head of construction and engineering based in Exeter while Stephen McColgan joins the Bristol office specialising in land acquisition.
Hoar trained and worked for seven years at Allen & Overy in both London and Hong Kong. He then spent 11 years at niche construction and engineering firm Shadbolt & Co in London where he was made a partner and latterly head of contentious construction.
He joined Foot Anstey in 2009 and was responsible for the development of the firm’s construction practice.
Stephen McColgan joined from Davies and Partners where he was head of land responsible for overseeing strategic land and property deals acting on behalf of a number of FTSE100 clients.
Head of Michelmores’ real estate team, Emma Honey said, “The appointment of a further two Partners to the Real Estate team reflects the continued growth of our practice, as we expand to meet the needs of an ever-increasing number of large, specialist instructions in this area.
“Chris and Stephen are significant hires, adding valuable knowledge and niche skillsets to our existing teams and we are delighted to welcome them both.”
