New hotel set for Kansai airport for travellers flying 24/7

by Jonathan Adams

A new inexpensive hotel for passengers to grab 40 winks or more will open at Kansai International Airport in March 2017.

The airport’s operator, Kansai Airports, said on Aug. 9 that the facility will be set up in the commercial complex Aeroplaza, which is located near the Terminal 1 Building.

Simple accommodations that can be used easily at midnight or early in the morning are required, as airplanes now land and depart at the airport 24 hours a day.

The new facility will be operated by First Cabin Inc., which runs similar facilities in cities including Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto.

The Tokyo-based company will prepare 153 guest rooms and a large bath in a plot of land that is currently used by Hotel Nikko for rental meeting rooms and other purposes.
